O'Brien is living up to his high expectations. He obviously has put together one of the greatest books of photographs of many of New York's best of the era. Many never seen by the general public. His keen eye underscores the authentic feel of what New York's creative allegiance was pulsating with and the subsequent development of the individual sensibilities. The images pulsate with the essence of the artists personalities. I was there, and the art in this collection provides a true apex of what our little underground started out as, showcasing intimate moments between the photographers and artists. Not only this, these particular images cleanly show the evolution of the artists showcased here. The chronology of each photographers work is delightfully put together, giving one the feeling that you are "immediately" there. Quite a nice achievement !
